How would your clients describe you?

I am a warm, open-minded, and personable. I use a holistic approach and create a safe space for clients to process difficult thoughts and emotions.

What is your approach to therapy?

I foster an environment of trust and confidentiality, and use active listening to ensure you feel heard and understood. I provide gentle guidance to help you gain new insights and freely express yourself without fear of judgement. Clients appreciate my collaborative approach that helps them identify and work towards their mental health goals.

How will you help me?

In additional to helping you utilize effective coping and social skills, I often find that my clients benefit from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. CBT explores how negative thoughts and cognitive distortions affect your emotions and experiences. This approach helps clients to learn how to identify and re-frame negative core beliefs. Once they are identified they can be replaced with more positive beliefs, which improves the individuals mood and outlook on life.

She also uses Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) which focuses on mindfulness and developing emotional regulation skills. DBT teaches clients strategies that help them manage strong feelings and develop healthier responses to their emotional triggers.

Why did you become a therapist?

I started studying social work because I knew I was gifted at connecting with people. Growing up, I often volunteered in various capacities with kids, elderly, and others in need. As began my college career I knew that I wanted to continue helping others so I pursued my masters degree in social work (MSW). Since then, my education and professional experiences have furthered my passion for helping people overcome the emotional obstacles in their lives.

What is your educational background?

I have a Master degree in Social Work from Fordham University. I am committed to continuously developing my skills and I take 15 hours of additional training each year.

What insurance do you take?

Aetna, United Healthcare, UHC, UHC Student Resources, Connecticare, Optum, Oxford, and Oscar. We are not in network with BCBS but we will provide you with a superbill that you can submit for reimbursement using your out of network benefits. You can see a full list of companies I'm in network with here. We will verify your benefits and help you find the most affordable way to engage in therapy.

What else should I know about you?

In my free time I enjoy spending time with my husband and daughters, traveling, and exploring new places.
