EAP Plans

Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) are a valuable resource provided by many employers to support the well-being of their employees. EAPs offer confidential counseling and assistance with various personal issues, including mental health concerns. These programs aim to help employees manage emotional challenges that could affect their work performance and overall sense of well-being.

How do I know if I have EAP benefits?

You can find out if your employer offers EAP benefits by checking with your human resources department or reviewing your employee benefits package. Typically, EAPs are included as part of your workplace benefits at no cost to you. They often provide a set number of counseling sessions or consultations with licensed therapists per issue, ensuring you can access support when you need it most.

The number of sessions that are provided free of cost depends on your EAP plan, but it can be up to 12 free sessions. Each plan is slightly different in terms of number of sessions covered and how long the sessions can be. Typically, EAPs will cover 45 minute sessions.

Understanding and utilizing your EAP benefits can be a crucial step toward improving your mental health and well-being. If you're unsure about your coverage or how to access these services, don't hesitate to reach out to your HR representative for more information. Your personal information and issues discussed in therapy are completely confidential and will not be reported to your employer.
